BRM / IMO 1.22 Ship Simulator & Bridge Teamwork Training

This course is in accordance with IMO Model course 1.22 and 1.39 and relates to the 1978 STCW convention, as amended are being received and updated after the adoption of the 2010 Manila amendments. This also complies with the NMA BRM syllabus 29.01.2015

This comprehensive training program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of bridge officers in the areas of Bridge Resource Management (BRM), ship simulator training, and bridge team teamwork. It provides a practical and hands-on approach to improving decision-making, communication, and collaboration among bridge personnel, ultimately leading to safer and more efficient ship operations.

 

  •  Develop effective leadership and decision-making skills: Participants will learn to assess situations, make informed decisions, and provide clear guidance to the bridge team.
  • Enhance communication and teamwork: Bridge officers will improve their ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with colleagues, and work as a cohesive team.
  • Gain practical experience in ship handling: Through ship simulator training, participants will develop proficiency in maneuvering vessels in various conditions, including emergencies.
  • Understand and apply BRM principles: Participants will learn about the key principles of BRM, such as situational awareness, decision-making frameworks, and effective communication.
  • Improve situational awareness and risk assessment: Participants will develop the ability to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and take appropriate actions to mitigate them.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement: Participants will learn the importance of safety culture and how to contribute to a continuous improvement mindset within the bridge team.

  • Group exercises and case studies: Collaborative activities to develop problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Role-playing scenarios: Simulations of real-world situations to practice leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
