IMDG Code and Dangerous Goods Awareness Training is designed to provide participants with fundamental knowledge of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and the safe transportation of dangerous goods by sea. The course covers the classification, packaging, marking, labeling, documentation, handling, stowage, segregation, and emergency response requirements necessary to support safe and compliant maritime operations.
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the purpose and structure of the IMDG Code.
2. Identify and classify dangerous goods according to IMDG requirements.
3. Apply proper marking, labeling, and documentation procedures.
4. Understand stowage and segregation requirements for dangerous cargo.
5. Recognize safe handling practices during loading, transportation, and discharge operations.
6. Interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazard information.
7. Respond appropriately to dangerous goods incidents and emergencies.
8. Promote compliance with international maritime safety and environmental protection requirements.
