Medical Care Awareness Training

This training program is designed to provide participants with fundamental and advanced knowledge of medical emergency response in maritime and offshore environments. The course covers patient assessment, basic first aid, CPR & AED, treatment of common onboard injuries and illnesses, emergency medical communication, and initial response procedures prior to the arrival of professional medical assistance.

The training materials are developed with reference to international maritime and occupational first aid practices, including International Maritime Organization Model Courses, the International Medical Guide for Ships, and internationally recognized emergency response guidelines.

This program aims to enhance the competency and emergency preparedness of maritime and offshore personnel in handling onboard medical emergencies safely and effectively.

Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the basic principles of onboard and offshore medical emergency response.
2. Conduct initial patient assessment and identify emergency medical conditions.
3. Apply basic first aid procedures for common onboard injuries and illnesses.
4. Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and safely operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
5. Respond appropriately to bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and other emergency medical situations onboard.
6. Demonstrate awareness of infection prevention and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
7. Understand casualty handling techniques and basic medical evacuation preparation procedures.
8. Communicate effectively during medical emergencies and coordinate with medical assistance services when required.
9. Promote health, safety, and emergency preparedness within maritime and offshore operations.
10. Support onboard emergency response readiness through medical care familiarization and practical emergency response procedures.
