Maritime Seafarers and Designated Security Duties Awareness Training
This training program is designed to provide seafarers with fundamental knowledge and awareness regarding shipboard security duties, maritime security threats, and onboard security procedures in accordance with international maritime security best practices and familiarization references from the STCW Code Section A-VI/6, SOLAS Chapter XI-2, and the ISPS Code.
Participants will gain understanding of security responsibilities onboard offshore and merchant vessels, including access control, restricted area monitoring, security communication, anti-piracy awareness, and emergency security response procedures to support safe and secure vessel operations.
Upon successful completion of this training, participants are expected to be able to:
1. Understand the basic principles of maritime security awareness and ship security duties.
2. Identify potential security threats, risks, and suspicious activities onboard vessels and offshore installations.
3. Understand shipboard security procedures, access control systems, and restricted area monitoring.
4. Demonstrate basic knowledge of anti-piracy awareness and security emergency response procedures.
5. Understand the roles and responsibilities of personnel with designated security duties onboard ships.
6. Apply basic security communication and reporting procedures in accordance with company and vessel security practices.
7. Promote safety, vigilance, and security culture within the onboard working environment.
