Marine Radar & ARPA Simulator Training

Marine Radar & ARPA Simulator Training is designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to effectively operate marine radar and ARPA systems through simulator-based exercises. The training focuses on target detection, radar plotting, collision avoidance, situational awareness, and safe navigation practices in accordance with internationally recognized maritime navigation principles.

Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the principles and limitations of marine radar and ARPA systems.
2. Operate radar controls and interpret radar display information effectively.
3. Detect, identify, and track targets using radar and ARPA functions.
4. Apply radar plotting techniques to assess vessel movement and collision risks.
5. Determine CPA (Closest Point of Approach) and TCPA (Time to Closest Point of Approach) for navigational decision-making.
6. Utilize ARPA information to support safe navigation and collision avoidance.
7. Navigate safely in restricted visibility and high-traffic environments.
8. Improve bridge situational awareness through effective use of radar information.
9. Apply relevant requirements of COLREG and maritime navigation best practices.
10. Demonstrate practical competency through radar and ARPA simulator exercises.
