CHARTWORLD EGLOBE G2 ECDIS EQUIPMENT FAMILIARIZATION
The ChartWorld eGlobe G2 ECDIS Equipment Familiarization course provides navigating officers with practical, equipment-specific knowledge for the safe and effective operation of the eGlobe G2 ECDIS. Through instructor-led demonstrations and practical exercises, participants learn system controls, ENC management, safety settings, route planning and monitoring, alert management, sensor integration, and backup procedures. This course supplements and does not replace approved Generic ECDIS Training.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the main controls, menus, displays, and operating functions of the ChartWorld eGlobe G2 ECDIS.
2. Configure chart displays, safety parameters, sensor inputs, and navigational settings.
3. Create, edit, check, and monitor routes using the system’s operational functions.
4. Interpret and respond appropriately to alerts, warnings, indications, and system limitations.
5. Manage ENC permits, chart installation, updates, and navigational data.
6. Apply backup and failure procedures and demonstrate competence through an individual practical assessment.
