Advanced Oil Tanker Operations Awareness Training

This course provides participants with an advanced awareness of operational practices, hazards, and safety principles associated with oil tanker cargo operations. The program introduces key concepts related to tanker vessel design, cargo handling systems, oil cargo characteristics, and the potential risks involved in tanker operations.

Participants will gain an understanding of tanker operational procedures, safety management practices, and environmental protection measures relevant to oil tanker operations. The course also highlights the importance of hazard identification, safe working practices, and emergency preparedness when working in tanker environments.

Training materials are referenced from internationally recognized maritime safety guidelines including relevant sections of the STCW Convention 1978 as amended, IMO Model Course 1.02 – Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations, and the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals (ISGOTT).

This program is delivered as an advanced awareness training course and does not constitute an STCW certification or tanker endorsement.

• Roles and responsibilities of tanker crew
• Safety culture in tanker operations

Module 2 – Tanker Ship Design and Cargo Systems
